Singapore, Almost everyone agrees that the physician writing difficult, or almost impossible to read even by a layman. Read the doctor's handwriting, of course, make the patient's forehead wrinkled. But did you know there was also a post that can make a doctor's forehead wrinkled?
The writing is writing Electrocardiogram (ECG), the graphics are made by an electrocardiograph, which records the electrical activity tool the heart over time. Through the 'writing' or the result of ECG readings, the doctor was able to determine what illness that landed in the heart of the patient.
"The results of the ECG reading could be an important clue for the doctor to determine the condition that strikes patients, ranging from arrhythmia, tachycardia and other cardiac abnormalities," said Dr. NG Kheng Spot, cardiologists from Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
In one of the seminars on how to read an ECG which is a series of Gleneagles Annual Scientific Meeting 15th at Regent Hotel, Singapore, and was written on Monday (20/05/2013), Dr. Kheng said at length how to detect the patient's illness just by reading her EKG results.
Apparently, the wave-wave frequencies similar to the picture symbol that stores important information about the patient's heart condition. In presenting the material, Dr. Kheng using the quiz, which gives examples of cases EKG readings and asking participants to analyze the patient's disease.
How did it go? Participants noted that most of the many physicians who are silent. There is a partial answer to the doubt, there is also answered firmly. Reasonable because not all of the participants who came from Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Vietnam and Singapore are cardiologists or cardiac specialist.
Of approximately 10 questions given by Dr. Kheng, only a handful who got a response from the audience response. Even that answer correctly 100 percent as well not exist. Apparently, the doctors are still unfamiliar with how to read an ECG, especially doctors who do not specialize in the field of cardiology.
"If you are less than 6 points, then you should take a class to read an ECG," concludes Dr. Kheng ending quiz to laughter from the audience.
