Healthy Benefits of Chocolate: Able to Prevent Alzheimer's & Parkinson's

Rome is well known that chocolate has the pleasure and can boost your mood. A study even links between high antioxidant chocolate with increased brain works. Meanwhile, based on recent studies, the molecular mechanisms of the brain that contained in chocolate may protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

This study whether such flavanol content of chocolate may protect brain cells from degeneration disease and dementia. From the results of the current study confirmed the antioxidant properties of polyphenols, which is a larger class of compounds and include flavanols, and set out how they work to protect the brain from the cellular level.

The study, led by Annamaria Cimini of the University of L'Aquila, Italy this creates cellular model of Alzheimer's disease, treated with peptide plaques ass and ass, and is associated with neurodegeneration. Adding chocolate polyphenols in these cells trigger the production of brain-derived neurothropic factor (BDNF), which promotes the growth of neurons and against cell death caused by oxidative stress.

Since this experiment is only performed on isolated human cells, it's not clear how much chocolate powder necessary or sufficient to enhance the neuroprotective effect of BDNF.

If you're still not convinced to add chocolate in food intake, the study has confirmed that at least enough chocolate consumption prevents cognitive decline and neuronal death.

Other studies have now also added chocolate for health benefits, such as to eliminate a persistent cough, prevent heart attack and stroke risk. But be careful, chocolate also stimulates enkephalin, parts of the brain that controls the desire for excessive consumption.
